Pass Plus

What is Pass Plus?
Pass Plus has been developed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). It contains six modules which are completed over a minimum of six hours.
- Driving in town
- Driving in all weathers
- Driving on rural roads
- Driving at night
- Driving on dual carriageways
- Driving on Motorways
The amount of time spent on each module will vary depending on the individual pupil's needs.
If for any reason a module can not be completed practically it will be discussed in detail to ensure the pupil has a good understanding of the subject.
There is no test at the end of the course. However each module is graded and a certificate will be issued on completion by the DSA
Why should you do Pass Plus?
1. As a new driver (regardless of age or gender) you are more likely to have a crash in the first two years of your driving career than at any other time.
2. It teaches you best practice for Motorway driving. The amount and type of traffic using Motorways means it is very different even from dual carriageway driving.
3. Pass Plus helps you develop your own driving style safely.
4. Many of you will have heard that you don't really learn to drive until you have passed your test. This is partly due to the confidence gained at this point. Whilst doing Pass Plus you will drive on all types of roads from single track country lanes to Motorways. You will have driven many of these during your lessons but with the extra confidence you now have an instructor can help you develop your observation skills and anticipation of these roads. By developing these you greatly reduce your chance of being involved in an accident.
5. Many insurance companies will reduce your insurance premium if you complete Pass Plus.
How much will it cost?
£20 per hour plus a £5 admin fee.
So if you only require the minimum six hours the total cost will be £125
